Quality at Alltech Coppens

Quality is at the heart of our company and the main responsibility of our quality department is to maintain the high quality of products we sell to our customers.

This starts from the sourcing of our raw materials and continues till the finished product leaves our factory.

In order to demonstrate our commitment to quality we are certified according to a number of certification standards.

  • Compound Feed Manufacturing standard from Global Gap including Non-GMO
  • In conformance with ASC for trout
  • Energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO50001:2011

Compound Feed Manufacturing standard from Global Gap including Non-GMO

Global Gap is focused around feed safety for both the fish that eat our food or for people that eat the fish.

The Compound Feed Manufacturing standard defines the Control Points and Compliance Criteria (CPCC) for quality assurance in the production, supply, and purchase of raw materials destined as feed ingredients for compound feed. It covers all the production steps, from the purchase, handling, and storage of ingredients to the processing and distribution of finished compound feed.

A central point within feed safety is HACCP and stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point. Within HACCP we carry out and maintain a hazard analysis of the company and examine whether a specific area poses any risks and if actions are needed to reduce this risk.

Having the Non-GMO part as well means that our feed is suitable for the production of food to be labeled Non-GMO.

In compliance with ASC

At the moment we are currently in the process of becoming ASC feed certified, but are already in compliance with the ASC standard for trout farming. This ASC certification focusses mostly on the sourcing of environmentally responsible raw materials as for example certified fishmeal and soya.

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is the world’s leading certification scheme for farmed seafood – known as aquaculture – and the ASC label only appears on food from farms that have been independently assessed and certified as being environmentally and socially responsible.

Energy management system (EMS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2011

Alltech Coppens uses an energy management system (EMS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2011. As part of this, we advocate the conscious use of energy and also ask our employees to be conscious of energy-saving energy (turning off the lights when leaving a room, switching off the machine before going on a breaks, etc.).
